Bishop Edir Macedo

Bishop Edir Macedo is a Brazilian evangelical bishop and the founder of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG). Macedo is also the owner and chairman of the second-largest television network in Brazil, RecordTV.

Bishop Edir Macedo and his church built a replica of King Solomon’s Temple in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Drawing on Biblical depictions of the temple and archaeological findings, the structure was built with Jerusalem stones imported from Israel. He also built a replica of the City of Jerusalem in Rio De Janeiro where he welcomes groups of Brazilian school children that want to know more about Judaism and the State of Israel.

The Solomon's Temple is a way to reconstruct the Biblical principles of faith as God himself meant. This is not a temple of the Universal Church, but a universal temple — for all humanity, of every race and faith, for anyone who wishes to know the God of the Bible.
