8. Bishop John Drew Sheard

Bishop John Drew Sheard is Presiding Bishop and Chief Apostle of the Church of God in Christ, the largest African American Pentecostal denomination in the United States with 12,000 churches in over 112 countries. Bishop Sheard has over 30 years of leadership in the Church of God in Christ. Bishop Sheard was also inducted into the prestigious Morehouse College Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers. In 2022 Bishop Sheard led a contingent of almost 150 delegates, as well as 30 representatives of the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women, on a tour of Israel. It was the first official visit by COGIC’s top leader.
