NRB: Rep. Doug Lamborn Honored at Israel Allies Foundation Reception

“Lamborn embodies ‘faith-based diplomacy’ for us,” said Jordanna McMillan, U.S. director of IAF. “He’s a man of deep faith and convictions and it has inspired some of the greatest pro-Israel policy in American history.”

Lamborn is a leading advocate for Israel in the U.S. House of Representatives and has co-chaired the bipartisan Congressional Israel Allies Caucus since 2011. As a Christian and lifelong supporter of Israel, Lamborn recognizes Israel’s unique position as the sole democracy in the Middle East and the role it plays in regional security and intelligence cooperation. The reception provided an opportunity to recognize Lamborn’s steadfast commitment to defending religious liberty and promoting bipartisan cooperation on key issues.

“His legislative efforts in Congress have saved countless lives in Israel and made both the U.S. and Israel more secure,” said McMillan. She cited Lamborn’s work on the Armed Services Committee where he secured generous funding for Israel’s Iron Dome, among other defense programs. Of note, he also helped secure the Taylor Force Act.

McMillan noted that faith-based diplomacy has changed the political landscape, being “responsible for some of the most significant foreign policy accomplishments, not just in the US, but around the world.” McMillan discussed the significance of recognizing efforts to strengthen U.S.-Israel relations specifically, as IAF seeks to reinforce to legislators and political leaders that their contributions on behalf of Israel are seen and appreciated.

“That was one reason why it was so important to have major Christian leaders like NRB CEO Troy Miller at the event,” McMillan said. “It sends a strong message to members of Congress that they do not stand alone in their efforts, but that an extensive network like the NRB supports their pro-Israel policies.”
