48. Pastor Bob Pearle
Dr. Bob Pearle is a graduate of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Cordova, Tennessee, receiving his Master of Divinity in 1980 and his Doctor of Ministry in 1992. He received his BA in Christian Ministry at Southern Bible College in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Dr. Pearle was part of the founding of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention (SBTC) in 1998 and served as its President from 2007 through 2009; and on the Executive Committee of the SBTC from 2001 to 2012 and from 2019 to date. From 1997 to 2006 he was a Trustee on the Southern Baptist Convention International Mission Board.
At present, Pastor Bob Pearle serves as Chairman of the President’s Executive Advisory Council at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary; is a Trustee on LifeWay Christian Resources, the publishing company of the Southern Baptist Convention; and serves on the Steering Council of the Conservative Baptist Network. In 2009 he published his first book, The Vanishing Church: Searching for Significance in the 21st Century. Dr. Pearle has been in pastoral ministry for over 40 years, serving churches in rural, suburban, and urban communities. A proud supporter of Israel, he has led delegations from his church to the Holy Land and often preaches from the pulpit about standing with Israel.
