34. Pastor Jorge Ovalle

Pastor Jorge Ovalle is President of the Evangelical Alliance of Guatemala (AEG), the country’s leading evangelical umbrella organization, which brings together 76 organizations and more than 25,000 congregations. He has played a prominent role in strengthening unity and cooperation among Guatemala’s evangelical churches and in promoting Christian engagement on issues of faith, family, religious freedom, and national life.

A strong supporter of Israel, Ovalle has worked to strengthen the longstanding relationship between Guatemala’s evangelical community and the Jewish state. In June 2026, he led a delegation of Guatemalan evangelical leaders to Israel as part of a gathering of Christian leaders from 13 Latin American countries. During the visit, the delegation met with Israeli authorities and representatives of Israeli civil and religious institutions, expressed solidarity with the Israeli people, and reaffirmed their commitment to praying for Israel and strengthening ties between Latin American Christians and the Land of Israel.

As President of the Evangelical Alliance of Guatemala, Ovalle continues to promote cooperation among evangelical leaders while strengthening Guatemala’s longstanding friendship with Israel. His leadership reflects the strong support for Israel within Guatemala’s evangelical community and the country’s important role as one of Israel’s closest friends in Central America.
